About me

Hi and welcome to Elemental Cakes CT! My name is Faith and I’m a licensed Connecticut Cottage Food Operator. Nestled in the southern end of the Litchfield Hills part of western CT, I bake from my home in Roxbury. It’s a tiny, quiet and beautiful town with an abundance of dirt roads and family owned farms. Aside from college and graduate school, I’ve lived all of my life in this part of Connecticut.

I received my home baker license in June of 2021. Prior to that, I had only made cakes for my children and a few friends. I’ve always been very crafty and creative. I used to make and sell handmade jewelry and handbags when I was in college in Charleston, SC. Decorating cakes and cupcakes seems to be a natural extension of that creativity. Making things with my hands is very calming and enjoyable to me. Plus I love food and feeding people!

I’m the sole proprietor of Elemental Cakes CT and it’s a hobby side business for me. My full time job is as an Account Manager at a family owned chemical manufacturer. My background is chemistry (BS and PhD degrees) and it will always be my first love. But baking and decorating cakes, cupcakes and cake pops is a close second. I’m also a wife and mom to two amazing little kids (who love tasting extra cake batter and frosting).

Every order I make is 100% custom. All of the cakes, frostings and fillings are made from scratch. You’ll see many examples of my work in the galleries on this website. Feel free to use those previous projects as inspiration or work with me to create something totally new!
