FAQ
Where are you located?
I am located in Roxbury, CT.
Do you have a store front?
No, I’m a licensed home baker, so I bake from my home.
Do you wholesale to restaurants or stores?
No, I do not. Connecticut does not allow Cottage Food Operators to wholesale their products.
How do I pickup my order?
I deliver all of my orders. For customers within 20 minutes of my home, delivery is free. If you are further than 20 min away, there is a small delivery charge or we can meet halfway.
Do you offer allergen-friendly options?
I do! I offer vegan (dairy/egg-free), soy-free and nut-free options. My kitchen is not allergen free, so I cannot guarantee that there will not be any cross contamination, but I take cleaning my work area very seriously, especially when I am baking for someone with an allergy.
Do you offer gluten-free options?
Unfortunately, I do not. Since flour is a very light powder, it easily travels through the air and I am not confident that I can completely remove it from all surfaces in my kitchen.
How should I store my custom product(s)?
All orders will come with storage and handling instructions. I will also explain these to you when I deliver the order.
How far in advance do I need to order?
I request at least 2 weeks but can sometimes accommodate shorter notice.
Is there a minimum order size?
For cakes, no. The smallest size cake I offer is a 4” smash cake. For cupcakes and cake pops, the minimum order size is 6.
How do I pay for my order?
A 50% refundable deposit is required to book your order and reserve the date on my calendar. Full payment is due 1 week prior to delivery. My primary way to receive payments is through Venmo. If you do not have Venmo, let me know and we can discuss other options.
How much do your products cost?
Since every order is custom made, I don’t have a standard price list. After filling out a quote request form, I will send you a detailed quote. You order isn’t booked until you make the first payment.
How do I best cut my cake in order to get the requested number of servings?
In general, cake slices should be 1” x 2” (when viewed from looking down at the cake). Most of my cakes are 3 layers (about 6” tall), so it’s a nice size slice of cake. I advise against cutting cakes into triangle slices like a pie. Instead, cut the cake in long rows that can then be cut into individual slices. This video is how I cut cakes (and it works for any size cake): https://youtu.be/-OfaRycC4H0
I ordered a tiered cake. How do I cut it?!
Tiered cakes contain dowels and other structural components within them. I will include a detailed guide on how the cake is structured and how to cut it.
I don’t see my favorite flavor on your quote form. Does that mean it’s not an option?
Of course not! I’m constantly adding flavors to my menu as customers request them. Keep in mind that my Cottage Food Operator license does come with some frosting/filling restrictions, though. So there may be some requests that I legally cannot fulfill. If this is the case, I will do my best to offer you an allowed alternative.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel prior to 1 week before delivery, your 50% deposit will be refunded in full. Cancelling after this time may result in less than the full amount being refunded as I will have begun purchasing materials for your order. Remember, all of my orders are custom.
Do you have a refund policy after I’ve received my order?
Because all of my creations are made from scratch, the cake itself may be slightly denser than what customers are accustomed to (boxed cake mixes contain a lot of additional ingredients that change the consistency of the cake crumb). Having a cake not taste like you expect may just be different flavor preferences between people. If you feel that your cake is inedible for any reason, please contact me immediately and save the cake so I may take it back and test it myself. No refunds will be given without the product being returned to me.
